I’ve never uploaded anything personally to YouTube although I generally visit the site on a daily basis. Some of the brands I work on have custom YouTube branded pages along with Director accounts so when I noticed this post on ReadWriteWeb.com I got excited. Today Google announced that is will implement a new piece of technology onto its Insights analytic dashboard called Hot Spots.

The new analytic tool offers a much deeper level of reporting on your video content including which individual parts of your videos are most popular and when people tend to drop off the page. This is great tool for testing your video footage and ensuring you are getting your videos right. I can see this coming in handy for advertising agencies wanting to possibly test new TV or viral videos to ensure they are having the desired interaction and response rates at key moment.

Google is deffentiliy making more inroads regarding user insight and analytics, overtime I see all these services coming under the Google Webmaster Tool function so you have complete control of everything concerning your brand content on Google website properties.  I’m sure these products will get even better as Google develops and further integrates its analytics solutions across its various platforms.
