Last year my work put me on the certificate in digital marketing course run by The IDM. After two massive pieces of coursework and 6 hours worth of exams out of the way I finally got the letter telling me I had passed the course.
I received a Credit which means I achieved over 60% across all work, slightly annoyed that I missed the distinction which was 65% but nothing I can do now. Good course overall which covered all aspects of digital marketing.
Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I seem to have caught this annoying cold that just won’t go away. That coupled with some fairly major projects at work has reduced my free time to virtually nothing. Hoping things should clear up this week and normal posting shall resume.
Oh almost forgot, now I’ve passed I can add Cert DigM after my name. Full name now looks something like this – Nicholas Flood Bsc, Cert DigM. I think I’ll stick with Nick Flood for the time being :)

Congratulations Nick!
Bet its quite a relief its all over
Cheers Andrew, massive relief to be honest.
Hopefully I can work my way up through the qualifications now.
Well done, Nick!
I’m looking at taking the Cert DigM myself and found your blog through Googling the letters (to see what people said about it).
So, is the course recommended?
Hi Ben, I would say that if you want a course that will give you a good all round view of the current digital marketing landscape then its great. If however you wanted to specialise in something like search engine optimisation then you would be best placed to go on a different course. The IDM certificate in digital marketing covers from my all the key areas and they get some great presenters in to help explain concepts and go over the real life examples. Its also worth nothing that its a lot of work, you really do need to revise for the exams and the 2 assignments are fairly large.
I’d like to do the diploma now which covers more of the strategy side of things including market research and obtaining users.
