Cannondale Bad Boy Hybrid Bike

This post has been sitting in my draft folder for the last 3 months so about time I got round to finishing it!

Late last year I signed up to the fantastic Ride2Work scheme that my company offered provided through Evans Cycles. I of course took the full £1,000 allowance and got myself a Cannondale Bad Boy hybrid bike. My daily commute is 8ish miles each way so it was great to finally be able to ditch the car and travel to work on a bike.

I’ve had the bike now for a good 6 months, although I used it a fair bit during the winter it’s now only getting a proper run. Along with the bike, I got all the usual kit and can already see myself spending a bit of money on this and it becoming a hobby. I’ve already got a nice wish list of cycling clothes from Wiggle to order shortly.

After 6 months of use I’m very highly impressed. It’s very light, quick and sturdy. Oh and of course the bike looks amazing. The Schwalbe Kojak tyres not only look the part but are strong enough to handle city roads plus the odd bit of grass/dirt. I’m nowhere near the level of even thinking about getting a racing bike but if you are after a bike that will eat up the miles on the daily commute then make sure you get yourself a hybrid, it makes such a difference over a mountain bike.

I’ve also stumbled across a great application thats useful in tracking my fitness and performance when cycling. If you are into running, cycling or just walking them create an account at RunKeeper and download the application for your mobile device. It uses GPS tracking to record your route and report on useful metrics such as calories burnt, miles covered etc.
